Biography:On a lonely Tuesday evening, a man walked into her favorite coffee shop and bought a chai latte and a muffin. He came back the next night for another and took it to the table with him instead of eating at the counter like the other customers did. Over time he purchased two chairs and joined her at the four-top she always sat at when she went in there. A week later he looked up as she walked in. His eyes were not only friendly but genuinely interested in what she found funny about the world around them. In his hands he held three books by Nabakov that he had read to her before she left work that day. And plants bloomed, and summer came, and winter passed on by, while they drank coffee under blankets during snow storms, laughed about their neighbors' Christmas lights, talked about how spring was here again, then summer again. They shared kisses in parks and picnics on rooftops, talked about road trips and walks in the rain. One day they were walking by a river watching the sunset when she told him how even though they had been together almost a year, sometimes she woke up scared because she thought it was all just some sweet dream - until she saw him next to her in bed. As they lay down on the grass together looking up at the sky, he turned to her and said "well don't wake up then."
